FTA boosts member advice team

The Freight Transport Association has added a new senior transport advisor to its Member Advice Centre (MAC) to support logistics businesses through the COVID-19 outbreak.

The FTA’s MAC provides expert advice and answers to member questions on legal, technical and operational matters, on topics such as Brexit, COVID-19, drivers' hours and vehicle maintenance standards.

Becky Martin has 12 years’ experience within retail, distribution and transport, having previously worked in advisory roles to John Lewis Partnership and Marks & Spencer.

Becky Martin, senior transport advisor at FTA, said: “The MAC team are well-known in the industry for their unrivalled knowledge of the legal, technical and operational matters pertaining to logistics and I’m delighted to be joining such a knowledgeable group of advisers.”

Robert Saunders, the manager of the MAC, said: “With so many conditions changing in the market on a daily basis at the moment, it is unsurprising that we are experiencing record numbers of calls to support members during the COVID-19 outbreak.”
