Coach operator National Express Group plans to restart UK journeys from July. In a brief trading update released on 15 May, the group said it has started selling tickets for journeys in a core coach network from1 July.
The company reported a 50% revenue decrease for April compared with the same period in 2019. However, a £100m reduction in monthly operating costs has generated EBITDA ahead of the group’s expectations.
National Express Group has also boosted its liquidity with around £1.5bn of cash and undrawn facilities available.
The group has also been boosted by its international performance, including winning a five-year contract to provide services for national firm North American School Bus.
