The concessionaire for the Tyne tunnels is seeking compensation for the loss of revenues during Covid-19.
Tyne Tunnels are owned by the Tyne & Wear local authorities but operated by TT2 Ltd as a concessionaire under a contract that runs to 2037. The consortium was appointed in 2007 and was responsible for designing and building the new Tyne Tunnel, and maintaining and operating both tunnels.
