Transport East recruitment

Transport East, the grouping of five local authorities in East Anglia, is recruiting a communications manager and executive assistant as it develops its work programme and profile.

Transport East is the sub-national transport forum for: Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock councils. 

Andrew Summers was appointed the organisation’s first strategic director in April. He is based at Suffolk County Council and joined from Transport for London, where he spent five years as a strategy and planning manager. Before that he was team leader for transport policy and growth at Hertfordshire County Council. 

Transport East has a budget of £373,000 for 2020/21, comprising member authority contributions of £242,000 and a carry over fo £131,000 from 2019/20. It is awaiting news about a possible grant contribution from the DfT for 2020/21.
