The Countryside Agency's demise could spell the end for many rural transport initiatives

Come 1 April the Countryside Agency will be disbanded and reappear as two shiny new quangos: the Integrated Agency and the Commission for Rural Communities. While the difference to everyone living in the countryside may not be immediately obvious, one important change will be the level of attention given to rural transport - and more importantly the level of investment available for rural transport projects in future.
