The DfT has formed a taskforce to find a solution to reopen Hammersmith Bridge in west London.
Hammersmith Bridge has been closed to vehicles since April 2019 after the discovery of critical faults in its cast iron structure. Last month it was closed to pedestrians after a sudden deterioration to the suspension structure.
