West Lothian scraps bus stop boarders after driver backlash

West Lothian Council is removing temporary extensions to bus stops that force buses to stop in the carriageway after a backlash from drivers. But the council has ignored calls from thousands of residents for temporary 20mph limits to be scrapped as well.   

The bus stop boarders and 20mph limits have proved hugely controversial since being implemented last year using funding from the Scottish Government’s Spaces for People fund.
