No evidence of fraud, says council

Dumfries and Galloway Council says no evidence of fraud or corruption has been found in an investigation into how the council lost £4.2m on a road maintenance contract. The probe focused on the council’s former trading arm, DG First (later ‘Enterprising Services’), which was closed down in February 2019. Between 2013 and 2018 DG First was a sub-contractor for the Scotland Transerv joint venture company that held the Scottish Government’s South West trunk road...
