New national flexible rail tickets have gone on sale across England, as part of the Williams-Shapps Plan for Rail launched last month (LTT 31 May).
The paperless tickets will allow travel on any eight days in a 28-day period, and passengers will not be required to select the days of travel in advance. An online ‘season ticket calculator’ will help people choose the best value tickets based on their journey, working pattern and individual needs, said DfT.
