Call for speed enforcement to protect grazing livestock

The Open Spaces Society has called for enforcement of speed limits on common land as the surge in staycations presents new collision risks, with many visiting drivers unaccustomed to driving on unfenced roads.

On the Gower peninsula, one farmer alone has lost 24 sheep and lambs through road collisions on common land this year, half of them in the last week of June and first week of July. This had prompted him to remove his sheep from the common. Ponies and cows have also been killed or put down...
