‘Transport sector must do a better job of recruiting and retaining women’

More than two-thirds of women in transport have experienced discriminatory behaviour in the workplace, according to a survey. 

Speaking at the Local Transport Summit, Jo Field, president of Women in Transport revealed that 70% of women agreed / strongly agreed that transport has a “macho culture” while only 40% of women felt that transport is an attractive place for women to work and 66% of women did not feel that women and men are treated equally in the transport sector.
