Plans to rebuild the abandoned Portishead to Bristol line have received development consent from transport secretary Mark Harper.
The cost of restoring the line, which was closed to passengers in 1964, was initially set at £116.4m. However, the cost of the project has risen to £152m, creating a funding gap of £35.6m.
