Mike Amesbury, Labour MP for Weaver Vale, has joined the Transport Committee. This follows the election last month of Iain Stewart as new chair of the Transport Committee. Stewart has taken over from Huw Merriman, who was made a transport minister in prime minister Rishi Sunak’s new cabinet.
