Stephen Sutcliffe to oversee Midlands Rail Hub

 The DfT has appointed Stephen Sutcliffe as senior responsible owner for the Midlands Rail Hub programme. He will be responsible for ensuring the viability of the Midlands Rail Hub and for “recommending its pause or termination if appropriate”. He will be required to identify, quantify and manage project benefits, working with the DfT’s Passenger Services Directorate. Where issues arise which you are unable to resolve, you are responsible for escalating these to the IPDC Investment, Portfolio and Delivery Committee (IPDC).

Prior to that he spent nearly six years as head of Northern Powerhouse Rail Development at Transport for the North.
