The DfT has published results of new research into 'real world' measurement of emissions from brake and tyre wear.
In February 2021, DfT started a research project aimed at developing novel technologies to measure brake and tyre wear emissions from road vehicles in real driving conditions rather than in laboratory tests.
The ultimate aim is to address knowledge gaps in how these emissions are generated and their levels.
