The short lists for the British Parking Awards 2023 have been announced.

The competition covers the design and operation of car parks and the regulation and management of the kerbside.

Besides categories recognising individual and team work, there are ones focussed on innovative technology, communications, community engagement and partnership working. There are also awards for the best new and renovated car park structures.

There will be special awards for organisations providing school streets and creating digital approaches to connecting drivers and parking.

This year also sees the return of the EVolution Awards, a section of the competition that reflects the increasing convergence between the worlds of parking and the provision of electric vehicle charging.

There were over 130 individual entries which have been whittled down to the short lists by a jury made up of experts from the parking and transport sectors.

The finalists will now compete for the top prizes in a range of categories spanning all aspects of parking. The winners will be revealed at a gala lunch at the Royal Lancaster London on 15 September.

The competition is coordinated by Mark Moran, editor of Parking Review magazine, who said: “There is a lot to celebrate this year. It is the 21st anniversary of the British Parking Awards, a competition launched by Parking Review in 2002 to recognise excellence and achievement in a sector that provides what is an essential public service. We hope that the anniversary awards lunch will be the social highlight of the parking sector’s calendar.”

The British Parking Awards is organised by Landor LINKS.
