Programme director role for Hughes at Arup

Arup has appointed David Hughes as major programmes director, with a focus on supporting and accelerating the firm’s delivery of significant national infrastructure and strategic change programmes.

Hughes joins from the DfT, where he spent nearly three years as director general, rail infrastructure, prior to which he was at Transport for the North as strategy and programme director. Prior to that he spent 15 years at Transport for London where he held senior leadership roles on projects including Crossrail, the Northern Line Extension, and the Tube upgrades.
