A range of hoped for items of transport legislation were conspicuous by their absence in last week’s King’s Speech, with little mention of transport beyond an Automated Vehicles Bill, the Pedicabs (London) Bill and a Draft Rail Reform Bill among the 21 Bills announced.
The draft status of the Rail Reform Bill means the formation of Great British Railways, first announced in the Williams Review five years ago, must await further consultation and pre-legislative scrutiny.
