The Government has set out how £8.3bn of funding will be re-directed from the scrapped northern leg of HS2 to repair roads over the next 11 years.
Of this, £5.5bn will be distributed between highway authorities in England outside London up to 2024/25.
Each council will identify which local roads are in most need of repair.
