Clean Air Zones must be backed by other measures, says Portsmouth

Solely introducing Clean Air Zones will not be enough to reduce air pollution, Portsmouth Council has warned the Government.

The council introduced its CAZ in November 2021 and said that while 94% of monitored areas comply with air quality standards, “data reveals persistent challenges in specific locations”.
