A trial of a new “Semi Flexible” ticket by LNER may result in more expensive off-peak journeys for some passengers, Transport Focus has warned.
The scheme forms part of a policy to revise the fare structure on the rail network endorsed by Transport Secretary Mark Harper but seen by critics as a way to boost revenue. It has already meant the withdrawal of return tickets on the East Coast Mainline.
