A suite of tools and user guides to help councils check the design quality of street schemes are now available from Active Travel England (ATE).
Over the past two years the Government’s executive agency has been working with councils, accessibility groups and its colleagues at DfT to test and refine the tools.
ATE introduced the tools so that councils can properly assess schemes implemented to encourage walking, wheeling and cycling.
