Plans for a light rail mass transit system for Leeds and Bradford have been unveiled by West Yorkshire’s Mayor Tracy Brabin. Alongside this, the Mayor has announced that the region is to retake control of buses by 2028 under a franchising system similar to the one launched by Greater Manchester last year.
At a meeting last Thursday West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) approved the mass transit “strategic outline case” document to the DfT.
