A handbook that reveals the myriad factors influencing travel behaviour has been published by transport academics Dimitris Potoglou and Justin Spinney. The new publication explores how travel behaviour can be better understood, modelled and forecasted.
Over 25 chapters, the book brings together the insights of an international range of academics, who discuss research analysis methods, environmental considerations and social factors.
The authors focus on traditional and emerging data collection and analytical methods, highlighting the ways in which different approaches enhance the understanding of travel behaviour. The book also examines how age, income, gender, societal development, health as well as disruptions such as the Covid-19 pandemic have affected travel behaviour.
Dimitris Potoglou is a Reader in Transport and Applied Choice Analysis at Cardiff Universirty while Justin Spinney is Professor in Transport and Mobility Studies University of the West of England.
