Transport Professor Margaret Bell retires

Margaret Bell has retired from the post of Science City Professor of Transport and Environment at Newcastle University. She was at the university for 17 years, before which she spent 10 years as Professor of Traffic Environmental Engineering at the University of Leeds. Bell ended her tenure at Newcastle with a special lecture. She said: “I was overwhelmed with the number of current and ex-colleagues and PhDs from across my 51 years, as well as my dear family for joining me to make the event memorable. Some had travelled long distances from the south coast and across from the west.”
