Carlos Tavares has quit as the head of Stellantis with immediate effect.
Tavares’ exit from the company – which owns brands including Vauxhall, Jeep, Fiat, Peugeot and Chrysler – comes two months after the carmaker issued a profit warning after a sharp drop in sales in North America. Last week, Stellantis also announced plans to close its Vauxhall van-making factory in Luton, Bedfordshire.
