The new tunnel linking Silvertown in east London?to the Greenwich Peninsula, which will be funded through road user charging, is set to open on 7 April 2025. Once the tunnel opens, the number of buses able to cross the Thames in the area will increase from six to 21 buses an hour, all of which will be zero emission and free to use for the first year, said Transport for London (TfL).
