More than £2m has been paid out in pothole compensation claims by Transport for London (TfL) in the last three years, new data shows. Figures from TfL in response to a Freedom of Information (FO) request, show that TfL paid out for 35 claims while it received a total of 556 claims during the three-year period.
In 2021/2022 TfL received 166 pothole compensation claims. In 2022/2023 it received 161 claims and in 2023/2024 it received 229 claims.
