Chancellor Rachel Reeves has backed a third runway at London's Heathrow Airport in a speech to ‘kickstart’ the economy. She said the runway could be built and operating by 2035.
A third runway would increase trade and create new jobs, said Reeves. She cited a study by consultancy Frontier Economics which estimates that a third runway could increase potential GDP by 0.43% by 2050.
