Scottish Government unlikely to meet car use reduction target, says study

A lack of leadership has meant the Scottish Government has made minimal progress towards its climate change goal of reducing car use, states a new report by Audit Scotland.

It pointed to the Scottish Government’s pledge in 2020 to reduce car kilometres driven by 20% by 2030. “However, the government has yet to produce a delivery plan for achieving the target, which it is unlikely to meet,” said Audit Scotland.
