Red lines to control parent parking outside Gloucestershire schools

03 February 2025

Red lines are to be painted on streets outside 30 schools in Gloucestershire to prevent parents stopping or parking during drop-off and pick-up times.

Penalties will be issued to anybody caught stopping on the red lines.

Gloucestershire County Council is trialling the lines in a bid to improve road safety.

The lines will be painted outside schools that have recorded the highest number of collisions and received the highest number of parking complaints.

Five schools will be selected in each of the county’s districts.
