Landor LINKS is proud to announce that it has been accredited as a Bronze Carbon Literate Organisation, highlighting the organisation's dedication towards tackling climate change, reducing its organisational carbon emissions, and its commitment to working towards a zero carbon future.

Carbon Literacy is defined as: “An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis,” and revolves around a day’s worth of learning and action on climate change."

By becoming a Bronze accredited Carbon Literate Organisation, Landor LINKS has demonstrated its commitment to genuine low carbon action, environmental and economic impact, and the building of a low carbon future for us all

A Carbon Literate Organisation is an organisation that has been accredited by The Carbon Literacy Project as being “culturally Carbon Literate”; maintaining a substantial proportion of its workforce as Carbon Literate and demonstrating its Carbon Literacy through its organisational behaviour. CLO accreditation is a tiered system with Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels, requiring increasing levels of commitment to action on climate change and creating a low-carbon culture.

Landor LINKS Joint MD Daniel Simpson said: “Achieving Bronze accreditation is just the beginning for Landor LINKS. We will actively seek further reductions in our carbon footprint through improved operational efficiencies, sustainable event planning, and ongoing staff training.

“We recognise that the transport sector has a crucial role to play in achieving net zero, and as a trusted partner to policymakers, industry leaders, and local authorities, we are dedicated to fostering discussions and initiatives that drive real change. By embedding carbon literacy into our business practices, we aim to not only reduce our own emissions but also inspire and support our clients in their sustainability efforts.

“Landor LINKS remains committed to working collaboratively across the transport sector to create a more sustainable future. The next goal is to build on this momentum and work towards the silver level accreditation, ensuring that our work continues to align with the urgent need for climate action.”

An ongoing commitment

To become accredited as a Bronze Carbon Literate Organisation, Landor LINKS has trained more than 90% of its staff using bespoke Carbon Literacy training materials. It is also putting into practice a series of carbon-active initiatives such as choosing vegan / vegetarian menus at events, sourcing local suppliers, selecting venues that are accessible without needing to drive, providing sustainable travel planning to events for all participants and producing regular carbon reports for stakeholders. Landor LINKS will be developing further carbon-active initiatives as it works towards silver level accreditation.

Dave Coleman, Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Carbon Literacy Project, said: "Carbon Literacy is an essential skill, vital to every workplace, community, and place of study. It is the foundational knowledge, and a catalyst to empowering people to act on climate, however, Carbon Literacy is only the first step.

"The actions taken and pledged by learners as part of their Carbon Literacy have an immediate impact within their organisation, however it is the maintenance of these and further actions, supported by Carbon Literate organisational culture, that reaps the greatest rewards for both participants and their organisations.

"By becoming a Bronze accredited Carbon Literate Organisation, Landor LINKS has demonstrated its commitment to genuine low carbon action, environmental and economic impact, and the building of a low carbon future for us all.”
