Silvertown Tunnel opened on 7 April, with a road user charge of up to £4 for car drivers, and the same tolls introduced for the first time on the nearby Blackwall Tunnel as well.
The new 1.4km tunnel connects North Greenwich to the western end of Silvertown in the Royal Docks. It cost around £1.2bn to build and around another £1bn for maintenance, financing and operation over the next 25 years, according to Transport for London (TfL).
