DfT rules out major rail improvements for new London Gateway port

The DfT has reiterated its support for a new London Gateway port and business park on the site of the former Shell Haven oil refinery in Thurrock, Essex, but rejected a call from Network Rail for "significant improvements" to the rail infrastructure to boost rail's share of port freight.
