Preparation works started this week on the A2 Bean to Cobham widening phase 2. The 6.5km dual four-lane road being built between Pepperhill and Cobham will comprise a combination of on and off-line widening and will parallel part of the route of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Once the new road is completed the existing A2 between Pepperhill and Marling Cross will be closed to motorised traffic and converted for cycle and pedestrian use.
