Parking levy plan set to progress as Nottingham tram gets amber light

Plans to extend the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram system have moved a step closer to reality after transport secretary Douglas Alexander granted the extensions programme entry status. The decision means that Nottingham City Council will now press on with plans for the UK's first workplace parking levy in order to help provide the local contribution towards the tram scheme costs.
