DfT’s Rowlatt joins Frontier Economics

Former DfT Chief Analyst  Amanda Rowlatt is now working for Frontier Economics as an Associate in the Public Policy practice.

Rowlatt worked in  several Government departments over a 30-year career. She was DfT Transport Chief Analyst and Chief Economist for ten years between 2014 and her retirement last year, responsible for assessing the value for money of DfT’s decisions; producing appraisal guidance for public investment in transport; and advising on other DfT policy decisions.

Her past work in government has covered policy areas including  economic regulation, enterprise development, science and innovation, higher and further education, international development, employment and welfare, market analysis and data development. She was Chief Economist at the Competition Commission and the Office for National Statistics.

Since retiring from DfT, she has also continued as a Policy Fellow, Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge, Deputy Chair of Brunel University.

Her successor at the DfT Ian Mulheirn was approinted shortly after the General Election last July. He was previously at the Institute for Government and Resolution Foundation and Executive Director and Chief Economist at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change

Frontier Economics is owned entirely by its staff, now totalling 423 people across seven offices.
