Keeping the county moving

Despite the economic downturn, Northamptonshire is experiencing greater growth than the England average, so is working to keep journeys on its roads reliable. Lee Baker finds out more

Northamptonshire has a twin-track approach to tackling congestion. It is both taking forward major highway schemes, and maximising capacity on the existing network through traffic management.

The county’s single largest road scheme is the Corby Link Road, which the county is going out to tender for over the autumn. The £35.8m scheme awaits a Department for Transport decision on Northamptonshire’s finalised funding bid.
