Funding will deliver parts of the Phase 3 Metrolink expansion plan

 

plans to extend the Manchester Metrolink light rail system are among the public transport schemes that have been granted funding by government through its regional transport allocations.

Funding was also announced for the renovation of the Blackpool Tramway, the Cambridgeshire guided busway and 40 new bus routes in Bristol. However, plans to extend the Sheffield Supertram network have been turned down.
