Amber light for Bristol bus rapid transit plan

The DfT has backed stage one of Greater Bristol’s bus rapid transit plan.

Transport minister Paul Clark visited Bristol to announce that the Department was granting ‘programme entry’ status to the £48m plans for a 7km BRT between Ashton Vale and Bristol city centre. Like Leeds NGT (see opposite), however, the approval includes the proviso of being “subject to availability of funds”.
