Hammond:
Hammond: "era of easy public money is over"

 

Transport Secretary Philip Hammond this week indicated that London’s Crossrail project would go ahead but warned that other major transport projects were at risk of cancellation as the new Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition takes steps to cut the country’s structural deficit.

Hammond devoted some time on his first full day in office to outline his early thoughts about transport policy to an invited audience of journalists.
