National Express wins East Anglia reprieve

In a statement issued this morning, National Express Group has revealed that it has received a six-month extension of its East Anglia rail franchise.

The decision marks a u-turn on the decision by former transport secretary Lord Adonis to deny the group an extension of its franchise until 2014 as a result of it defaulting on the East Coast intercity franchise.
