Bedford Borough Council has invited bus operators to design a new tendered rural bus network to replace the council’s existing route-based contracts.

Operators are being asked to  propose new networks within three different annual subsidy bands: up to £300,000; up to £450,000; and up to £600,000.

The council plans to implement the new network on 25 July, replacing 11 existing service contracts valued at about £600,000.
