TfL aims for an extra £2.6bn of efficiency savings

Transport for London has set out plans to make an extra £2.6bn of efficiency savings before 2018 in order to protect investment in frontline services. Total efficiencies are now expected to deliver savings of £7.6bn during the period. Major cost reductions highlighted by TfL in its new business plan include:

£400m from ticket office changes driven by a reduction in 800 management and operations roles

£375m from efficiencies in IT systems

£460m in bus...
