Passengers are the losers in areas with poor competition

Many bus passengers are failing to benefit from the effects of competition, says the Commission.

“We find that very few routes overlap substantially with the route of a competing operator along a large proportion of their length. This implies a lack of head-to-head competition for passengers in many cases.”
