The Government is to end core grant funding for two of its environmental bodies – the Carbon Trust and the Energy Saving Trust – from next April. In future the bodies will have to bid for Government work through a competitive tender process. The Department for Energy and Climate Change says both bodies are ramping up their commercial operations.
