You are simply wrong in ringing the death knell for electric vehicles (Editorial, 28 Sep). Far from being dead in the water, the market is in fact gathering pace.

Our latest quarterly figures for take-up of the Plug-In Car grant are the highest yet – indeed, over a quarter of the electric cars sold in Britain since the scheme started at the beginning of 2011 were bought in the last three months.
