Firstgroup has sold eight of its London bus depots, raising almost £80m, as the company focuses on the deregulated market outside London.

The sales leave the group with only one depot in the capital, at Dagenham in east London, the future of which is also under review.

The bus depots at Alperton, Greenford, Hayes, Uxbridge and Willesden Junction, along with 494 vehicles and around 1,700 employees, will transfer to Metroline on completion of the sale for £57.5m, pending regulatory...
