Cardiff saves £430k as municipal wins P&R deal

Cardiff Council has awarded a two-year contract for the Cardiff East park-and-ride service to municipally-owned Cardiff Bus in a deal that will save the council £430,000 a year. 

Cardiff Bus will take over the service from FirstGroup on 26 January. The Cardiff East facility, located off the A48 at the Pentwyn Interchange, opened in 2009. Fare revenues currently flow to the council, whose net spend on the scheme in 2012/13 was £616,600 (including some one-off costs).
