Worcs approves £1.6m of bus cuts

Worcestershire County Council has abandoned plans to abolish all subsidy for local bus services but will press ahead with cuts that save £1.6m a year.

Buses in Worcestershire carry about 15 million passengers a year and three million of these are made on service supported by the council. 

It currently spends £3m a year on supported services, having cut £2.5m of spending in 2011.
